    Sat, May 21 - 2-6PM

    Hillcrest Seventh-day Adventist Church
    2600 Kenwood Rd.
    Bakersfield, CA.

In the Mad About Marriage Seminars, Mike and Gayle examine some of the issues that can derail marriages. They draw on current research and the expertise of a variety of scholars, authors and psychologists to find solutions to the problems.

There are some "big" issues that have a very destructive effect on marriage. Some of these issues are easily identified, but some of the most destructive may be present in marriages without couples recognizing their existence. Couples struggle along, trying unsuccessfully to create a positive relationship, not realizing why their efforts at marital bliss seem thwarted. It's important for the success of the marriage to identify and deal with negative issues.

    General Seminar Topics include:

    • Spirituality
    • Communication
    • Problem Solving
    • Forgiveness
    • Marriage Insurance “Big Issue”

    Topics include:

    • Infidelity
    • Pornography
    • Abuse
    • Finances
    • Negative Past
    • Anger
    • Men Who Don't Lead
    • Too Little Sex

  • Future Navaja Mission Trip

Announced by Anonymous on Feb 23 2011

We are still planing on going to the Navajo Reservation for a mission trip in March.  What we will be doing there has changed slightly.  We had hoped to build a home, but that was just getting to complicated in this short time frame.  Theyd o need some concrete slabs poured around their facility so  we are going to help with that.  They have many other smaller projects for us to help with (that Mr. Castillo will be organizing) as well as passing out literature in the community of Page to help build up their small church they ahve started! We are glad that we can be of service ot this neat mission outpost that is not too terribly far away from Bakersfield.  If you're interested in helping out with this project please talk to Pastor Jamey or Heather in the church office 871-5000!

  • High Roads Enterprises Sabbath

Announced by Jamey Houghton on Jan 15 2010

On February 13, 2010 we will be having a special emphasis on our 4x4 ministry, High Roads Enterprises. Many of you have heard of them and maybe have even attended shop night to work on your jeep or 4x4. This unique ministry was started by Pastor Steve Hamilton when he was the Youth Pastor at Hillcrest. He will be speaking at both the first and second services at Hillcrest on the 13th--and will also be baptizing one of the members of High Roads Enterprises! It's going to be a GREAT Sabbath! So you can see what they do in their ministry, they will be bringing all of their lifted trucks and jeeps for you to take a look at after church! They will be lined up out in the parking lot and you can come and ask them questions and find out more about how they promote Christianity and a relationship with Jesus in their club.
